Andre is uniquely qualified to assist and coach churches and church staff through the challenges of ministry in today’s expanding urban environment. Born on the island of Jamaica, Andre migrated permanently to the United States at the age of 15. His diverse cultural awareness, years of experience in urban ministry, training in diversity issues provide a rich resource of information and tools. He has received anti-racism training from Crossroads Institute as well as training in assisting organizations in Diversity and, Inclusion and preventing Unintentional Intolerance.
Andre is an experienced retreat planner, worship leader and speaker. He has spoken to groups on the subjects of diversity, community ministry, and the changing church. He has been a panelist before the Religious News Writers Association, among others. Andre has also presented multiple workshops and seminars at the Calvin Institute of Worship, Volunteers in Service Church Leadership Training Event. Most recently was invited to present at the The Bast Preaching Festival. Andre also has extensive training (including with Bob Logan) and experience (10 years and over 50 planters) as a church plant assessor using the Riddley assessment and other tools. He has taught a seminary level class on the missional church.
Andre was a contributor to Communities First workbook series on community ministry.He developed several tools for use in community ministry while developing and serving as the first congregational coach of Volunteers in Service Equipping Churches Network. He is versed in asset based community development among other community development tools and started the faith-based non-profit Grand Rapids Dreams.
Andre has also written several articles for Reformed Worship magazine and youth curriculum for Presbyterian and Reformed Youth Ministries.
With over 20 years experience in web site development and more recently social media Andre can also provide clients with the tools to maximize their ministry presence.
